Barrier Island Community Network

The Barrier Island Community Network (BICN) is an initiative begun in the fall of 2011 to develop a network of coastal communities from Waites Island, SC to North Topsail Island, NC.  The purpose of this network is to facilitate discussion of environmental issues common to all members and suggest relevant management strategies.  It is intended that BICN will convene twice per year at the BHI Conservancy's Barrier Island Study Center.  Communication among communities will occur throughout the year via e-mail, phone conversations and informal site visits.
