NEW! BUDDING NATURALISTS CAMP FOR AGES 4-6

A great summer adventure for 4-6 year olds.* Led by Conservancy staff and interns, activities range from catching bugs to reading books, holding snakes, arts and crafts and lots more! This is a great introduction into the world of "wild things" in a safe and fun atmosphere. Please dress and prepare children to spend the entire time outdoors. Bug spray, sunscreen, hats, water bottles, and comfortable shoes are recommended.

Note: no camp on July 2nd. Meet at the Fleming Education Center, 9am – 12pm, Reservations Required. You may enroll your child by the day or enroll for the full week. $55 per child per day. $40 per child per day for BHI Conservancy Members. Call (910) 457-0089 or visit www.bhic.org to register.

NEW! JUNIOR SCIENTISTS CAMP FOR AGES 7-10

To prepare our children for service as stewards of our fragile environment, the BHI Conservancy offers a day summer camp program for 7-10 year olds. Conducted by the BHI Conservancy's Education Staff and assisted by BHI Conservancy interns, this camp combines outdoor activities such as kayaking, nature hikes, crabbing, dissections and shell collecting with a fun "hands on" curriculum! Activities change daily, and take place "in the wild" whenever possible. Please dress and prepare your children to spend the entire camp outdoors. Bug spray, sunscreen, hats, water bottles, and comfortable shoes are recommended. Kayaking days will be offered once a week. Please check www.bhic.org for camp kayaking schedule. Please note there will be no camp on July 2nd.

NEW! CONSERVATION CORPS CAMP FOR AGES 11-14

Has your tween or teen been looking for a way to get involved with the BHI Conservancy and help our efforts to protect the natural wonders of the coast? Conservation Corps provides an adventure in service learning for students ages 11-14. Participants will get first-hand experience in the many conservation projects we are involved in. Conservation Corps will be "in the field" three days a week and work in our state of the art laboratory facility two days a week. Please visit www.bhic.org to see a daily schedule. Note: no camp on July 2nd. Meet in the Barrier Island Center. Please dress and prepare children to spend the entire camp outdoors. Closed toe shoes are required for laboratory days. Bug spray, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, water bottles, and hats are recommended.

CANCELLATIONS

The BHI Conservancy will grant a refund for program registrations if written notice is received at least two weeks prior to the program date. There is a $5 processing fee required for all refunds. Cancellations made with at least one week notice will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than a week prior will not receive a refund. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please contact Tracey Ritchie, Director of Education, to cancel any registrations at tracey@bhic.org.

TRANSFERS

The BHI Conservancy will accommodate transfers depending on availability. There will be a $5 transfer fee to switch individuals from one program to another. Transfer requests must be made in writing at least two weeks in advance. Please contact Tracey Ritchie, Director of Education, to transfer any registrations at tracey@bhic.org.
