Parties are best suited for ages 4-8, but activites can be modified for older groups. Birthday parties will be offered Saturdays from June-September and booked on a first come, first serve basis. Are you part of a troop, class, or club? Want to spend the night on Bald Head Island? We would love to host your group!

    Educational Programs...

In order to utilize the Conservancy Dorm, your group must participate in at least one education program with Conservancy staff. Please click on our Family Adventure Programs tab to learn about the programs we offer. If your group chooses to participate in more than one education activity, a discounted program price will be offered. Our Education staff can assist you in selecting programs that will best fit your group. We are also able to create custom programs to assist in covering your group’s curriculum, merit badge requirements, or individual interests. Programs include Kayaking, Birding, Beachcombing, Night Hikes, Forest Hikes, Island Nature Tours, and Middle Island Hikes.

    Getting to the island...

Bald Head Island is only accessible through a passenger ferry. This ferry departs from Deep Point Marina in Southport, NC (http://www.baldheadisland.com/contact/directions.aspx). The Conservancy is able to provide you with an adult ferry ticket at the rate of $17.50 per person, if you book your trip far enough in advance to allow these tickets to be mailed to you. Last minute trips or additions to your group will need to pay full price for tickets, which is $23. Children between the ages of 3-12 can receive a ticket price of $12. Child tickets and extra tickets can be purchased when you arrive at the marina.

Parking at Deep Point Marina is $8/day/vehicle.

Ferry Schedules can be found here:  Bald Head Island - Ferry Information

    Accommodations...

There is dorm style housing located on the campus of the Conservancy which is available for your group. This includes 4 full baths, two rooms with 3 sets of bunk beds (sleeps 6 per room), a third room with 5 sets of bunk beds (sleeps 10). Groups larger than 22 people can inquire about utilizing our classroom space for indoor camping. Linens are provided, however groups are encouraged to bring sleeping bags to reduce our water use. Dorm spaces are available for $35/bed.

    Meals...

The dorm is also furnished with a full kitchen, which is included in the dorm fees. The kitchen has a stove, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee pots, two full refrigerators, dishwasher, pots, pans, plates and bowls. Groups are encouraged to provide their own cups and silverware. Many groups choose to prepare their own meals during their stay; however there are also restaurant and catering options available on Bald Head. More information on these options can be provided on request.

    On Island Transportation...

A tram service is included in the purchase of your ferry ticket. This tram will transport your group to the Conservancy, and will also transport your group back to the ferry at the end of your stay (tipping of transportation employees is encouraged). Many of the educational programs we offer are within walking distance of the Conservancy. Access to our pristine beaches and maritime forest trails are also within a short walking distance. The majority of groups we host do not require transportation beyond the trams; however there are rental golf cart options available. More information on these options can be provided upon request.
