If you haven’t been to Turtle Central lately, you must stop by and check out our huge selection of new merchandise. Staffed by Conservancy volunteers, Turtle Central offers just the right gift for someone special, or the perfect memento of your time on Bald Head Island.
Turtle Central is located on the Conservancy Campus at the east end of Federal Road, right on the way to East Beach and Cape Fear Station.

MERMAID DAY
Bring all the kids to the Conservancy on Saturday May 26 for an event that will by fun, entertaining and musical. Jan DiRuzzo – Entertainer and Author of “The Lost Mermaid : A Shem Creek Moonlight Jamboree” will be performing at the Conservancy’s Barrier Island Study Center Media Room. There will be 2 performances: 11:00 and 12:30 with a book signing starting at 2:00. The fee is $5.00 per child. Please make a reservation, as seating is limited, by calling Turtle Central at 910-457-0917. This wonderful book can be purchased prior to the event at the Gift Shop. It’s a special event you won’t want to miss.
