The BHI Conservancy reserves the right to postpone or cancel a Turtle Trot due to unsafe weather conditions.

Off Island Runners: We welcome runners who are not staying on the island and are excited that you are thinking of joining us! Please note that in order to get to Bald Head Island, you must take a short ferry ride.  Information about the ferry can be found here. We recommend taking the 8:00am ferry to the island. All ferry tickets come with two free tram rides (one from the BHI Marina after you get off the ferry and one back to the BHI Marina for your return trip to the mainland).  For those interested, any staff member can recommend additional Bald Head Island activities. (Please note: the run begins at 9:30am, so you may not make the 10:30am ferry back to the mainland.)

Not running, but interested in being a volunteer for the run?  E-mail Lindegaard@bhic.org with your availability.

Annual Fund for the Environment

The Annual Fund underwrites all of the conservation efforts provided to the community of BHI including the sea turtle protection program, invasive species and dune monitoring, forest and land conservation, creek water quality monitoring, freshwater aquifer monitoring, wildlife surveys, wildlife emergency response and timely research projects to address emerging issues.

We need your support to continue to fulfill the community’s vision to live in harmony with nature. Please help conserve and protect our environmental resources for all our families to continue enjoying the restorative, peaceful sanctuary that is Bald Head Island.
