Sea Turtle Wine Benefits Conservancy

If you stopped by the Maritime Market you may have noticed a unique brand of wine on the shelves, a special release “Sea Turtle Reserve Wine” from Weibel Family Vineyards.  The winery is offering these special addition wines to help benefit non-profits who have sea turtle protection programs, such as the Bald Head Island Conservancy.

Three special labels were created providing a variety of wines for all wine lovers; a Sea Turtle Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Sea Turtle Reserve Chardonnay, and Sea Turtle Sparkling Moscato.

Weibel Family Vineyards owner, Fred Weibel chose this project to help bring attention to the many issues that sea turtles face.

“They are truly beautiful creatures that play important roles in our marine and coastal environments. Hopefully, we can all do our part to make sure sea turtles are around for future generations,” says Mr. Weibel. “Our main goal in producing the Sea Turtle brand of wines is to make and promote a product that helps raise much-needed financial support for sea turtle protection, conservation and education programs in our coastal regions."

The Bald Head Island Conservancy has received a donation of wine to serve at our Turtle Tuesdays at Turtle Central, every Tuesday from 4-6 on Turtle Central's porch from Memorial Day until Labor Day!

Make sure to stop by to get a taste of this unique wine or you can purchase your own bottle at the Maritime Market.  The wines are also sold in area stores and The Conservancy will receive a portion of proceeds from the wines purchased at the Market, as well as areas throughout the Northern Area of Brunswick County including, Southport and Oak Island.
