Mike’s Bites, owned and operated by Mike Thomasen, is located at the front of the Bald Head Island Conservancy Campus in the old generator building previously used for the third lighthouse built on the island. Banded Watersnake The Conservancy has not confirmed any venomous snakes living on Bald Head Island. Recently, photos have been shared of various snakes that have been killed due to mistaken identity: a few turned out to be harmless Banded Watersnakes (Nerodia fasciata fasciata, not Copperheads or Cottonmouths).
