Environmental Education Programs
A full calendar of our current programs can be found here.
All programs are for groups of 10 or less. Program attendees ages 5 and older are required to wear a face mask for all programs (with the exception of Kayaking).
Looking for things to do on Bald Head Island? The BHI Conservancy uses its unique location to foster appreciation, deepen understanding, and encourage stewardship of the environment through our many activities and programs. For over 30 years we have been inspiring and challenging people of all ages to be better stewards of our coastal environment, ensuring conservation for generations to come.
All of our programs support our mission.
Your child can crab and fish on the marsh, dissect a shark, meet a live box turtle and more - all through our kid's activities.
You and your family can't miss the classics such as Birding Bald Head Island, Island Nature Tour, and Kayaking the Creeks.
Come stay with us and learn about barrier islands, we have a dorm with a capacity for 30 people. The dorm is available for overnight trips from September through April while day trips are available year-round.
The Thad Wester Fishing School is one of our oldest programs and occurs every fall. It is an exclusive weekend program that always fills up quickly.
