Thad Wester, 1926-2017

Simply put, the Conservancy would not be here today without Thad and Lee Wester. The Bald Head Island community has lost the man who taught us all to "live in harmony with nature." Karen Von Dollen, DVM, a Theriogenology Resident at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine is visiting the Conservancy for a week while she ventures out into the field with the deer team to take ultrasounds and collect blood samples of the deer that we capture. Through this, we hope to get more insight about BHI's deer population and how our management program is working.
