Families had a ton of fun exploring the internal structure of a Forbes Sea Star! We learned about their internal and external anatomy as well as their ecological role and amazing hunting strategies. We also took a look at sea star specimens under dissection scopes. This echinoderm exploration took place in our brand new Young Hatchling Learning Laboratory! Stay tuned for more dissections throughout the summer! Call (910)...

“Today at camp, we went to the beach and picked up trash. We also collected driftwood for the garden path. We saw a movie about plastic and how it gets into our ocean. Then, we made a poster to educate the public about plastic and how to reduce trash. Then, we worked on transplanting coastal morning glory, a native plant, in our garden.”- Thomas, Craig, Alex, Emily Ann, & Katie Mac
