Communications, Development & Retail Interns:

The BHI Conservancy is offering multiple positions in our Summer Internship Program. Positions include CommunicationsRetail and Development Interns.

Interns will spend 3 months living and working in the unique setting of Bald Head Island, a sustainably developed island with a community dedicated to living in harmony with nature. Our summer internship program is open to rising juniors, seniors, and recent graduates of an accredited college or university. Stipend and housing provided.

Senior Educator:

We are seeking a dynamic individual with experience in public education and scientific knowledge of coastal environments to join our team as Senior Educator and lead the Conservancy’s education endeavors. The primary goal of the organization’s educational programming is to foster knowledge and a deep affection for the natural ecology of barrier islands, especially Bald Head Island. The Conservancy’s campus includes attractive educational spaces in the Fleming Education Building (lecture hall and classroom) and the Barrier Island Study Center (Rice Multimedia Center and wet lab classroom), as well as easy access to spectacular outdoor learning spaces among BHI’s salt marsh, maritime forest, and sand dune habitats.

Sea Turtle Program Coordinator:

The Sea Turtle Program Coordinator (STPC) will be responsible for executing an effective Sea Turtle Protection Program, including training and directly supervising 6 undergraduate and/or recent graduate interns to conduct all-night and early morning patrols, tag, and collect data on nesting sea turtles.
